Industrial production grows in Karaganda region

According to current data for January-July 2019, industrial products in Karaganda region were produced at 1,472.8 billion tenge. The industrial production index compared to the corresponding period last year amounted to 100.7%. Production growth was noted in the mining industry and quarrying by 10.7%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 3%, water supply, sewage system, control over the collection and distribution of waste - by 0.2%. The decrease was recorded in the manufacturing industry by 3%. The largest share in the structure of industrial production in the region is in the manufacturing industry (76.2%). Mining and quarrying accounted for 15.1% of the regional industrial production, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - 7.3%, water supply, sewage system, control over the collection and distribution of waste - 1.4%. The main volume of industrial production was produced in Temirtau (27.4%), Zhezkazgan (20.5%), Balkhash (14.5%) and Karaganda (14%). Production growth was recorded in all regions except Temirtau, Balkhash, Karazhal, Shakhtinsk, Satpayev, Osakarovsky district, Karaganda and Saran. The greatest growth was noted in Shet district (3.4 times), Zhezkazgan (1.8 times), Aktogay (1.5 times), Ulytau (30.9%), Zhanaarkinsky (27.2%) districts , Priozersk (by 27%), Karkaraly district (by 24.7%). A significant decline in industrial production is observed in Temirtau (by 13.7%) and Balkhash (by 11%) due to a decrease in production volumes in the manufacturing industry.
